USDC is the second-largest dollar stablecoin and the one many European players reach for first, because it’s easier to buy on regulated EU exchanges than USDT. Fewer casinos accept it than USDT, but most of the casinos we’ve reviewed do. This guide covers what USDC is, how it differs from USDT, which networks to use, and which reviewed casinos take it.
What USDC is
USDC is a stablecoin issued by Circle, designed so that one USDC can be redeemed for one US dollar. Circle says the reserves backing it are held in cash, mostly at large banks, and in a government money market fund invested in short-term US Treasuries and repos. It publishes reserve holdings weekly, and a Big Four accounting firm provides monthly third-party assurance that the reserves exceed the USDC in circulation.
In July 2024 Circle announced that its French subsidiary had received an electronic money institution licence from France’s banking regulator, allowing it to issue USDC in the EU under the MiCA rules. That’s why EU exchanges continued to list USDC when many restricted USDT.
USDC or USDT at a casino?
For a fuller comparison, including reserves, EU availability and risks, see USDC vs USDT.
| USDC | USDT | |
|---|---|---|
| Issuer | Circle | Tether |
| Casino acceptance | Common, but not universal | Almost every crypto casino |
| Buying in the EU | Widely available on MiCA-regulated exchanges | Restricted on many MiCA-regulated exchanges |
| Tron (TRC-20) | Rarely offered by casinos | The most common casino network |
| Value | $1 | $1 |
For your bankroll they behave the same: 100 USDC is $100 whether the market is up or down. Pick whichever you can buy and move most cheaply, and that your casino accepts on a cheap network.
USDC networks: native vs bridged
Like USDT, USDC runs on many blockchains. Circle issues native USDC on networks including Ethereum, Solana, Base, Arbitrum and Polygon. On some networks you’ll also find older “bridged” versions, such as USDC.e, created by moving USDC across a bridge. To a casino these can be different tokens with different contract addresses. Shuffle, for example, accepts only native USDC on Arbitrum, not USDC.e. If your wallet shows “USDC.e”, check the casino’s terms before sending.
The cheapest options are usually Solana, Base, Polygon and Arbitrum, where transfers typically cost cents or less. Ethereum costs more. Always match the network on both sides; our deposit guide walks through the steps, and they’re the same for USDC.

Risks that apply to USDC too
- Issuer risk. USDC depends on Circle’s reserves and banking partners. In March 2023, when Silicon Valley Bank failed while holding part of Circle’s cash reserves, USDC briefly traded well below $1 before recovering.
- Freezing. Circle can freeze USDC held at specific addresses, for example under court orders or sanctions. This rarely affects ordinary players, but it’s part of the design.
- Casino risk. A stable coin doesn’t make the casino safer. Licences, withdrawal rules and complaint records matter far more; see our reviews.
